Russian accommodation kills at least 4 in Ukraine’s Sumy -Region

A Russian drone attack overnight on Ukraine killed at least four people in the northeastern city of Sumy, the Ukraine’s Interior Ministry said.

Photos shared by relief services showed a meager hole that was torn into the side of an apartment building in Sumy and rescue workers digging through waste as they searched for survivors.

“This is a terrible tragedy, a terrible Russian crime,” wrote Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on social media. “It is very important that the world does not pause to put pressure on Russia for this terror.”

Ukraine Ombudsmith in Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said four people were killed and nine others, including a child, were injured in Sumy.

The city is just above the border from Russia and is regularly targeting Russian attacks. Sumy had a population before the war of more than 255,000 people.

Ukraine’s Air Force said the Russian military attacked the country with 81 drones. It said that air defense systems set up 37 of the drones across the country, including Sumy and near the capital Kyiv.

In the southern part of Odesa, located on the Black Sea, officials said Russian drones targeted the port city of Izmail, one of several important Ukrainian export hubs.
