Matthew Lillard returns as Stu Macher in Scream 7

It is a truth that is universally recognized that if you do not physically see a character die on screen, then they simply are not dead. Hell, sometimes you Do Watch them die and they are still coming back. But in case of Matthew Lillards Scream Fan Favorite Stu Macher, and Ghostface Killer seemed pretty damn dead when we last saw him, after just having a live 50-pound crt TV fell upside down after trade in cuts with colleague Stab-Happy Psycho Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) . But as the mad man even once said, “These days you have to have a successor!” And then per Deadline‘S Reporting (and Matthew Lillard’s Instagram), Stuart’ STU ‘Macher will be back in Kevin Williamson’s upcoming Scream VII.

News about Lillard’s role retaliation comes warm on the heels of tonight’s second conspicuous Scream 7 Casting –kabil, which is the return of another long supposed death ghost to the franchise – Scott Foley‘p Scream 3 Incorrect’un (and Sidney Prescott’s Half-Brother) Roman Bridger. How Lillard and Foley are back, like pretty much everything about Kevin Williamson’s films at this point, is a mystery. For all we know they could be ghosts or they could be stu and roman’s twin brothers (yes we haven’t forgotten you Rumors back from the day about STU’s twin). But they are part of Williamson and author Guy Busick’s plans, they have no shortage of considered business. Already confirmed to return to Slasher Saga’s seventh Rate is Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown; And they are together with the Nykoms McKenna Grace, Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, Joel Mchale and Mark Consuelos.

So how accurately is Stu back after all these years? And what is it with several previous ghosts that emerge? While we are at it, what is it with SID’s new husband Mark Evans (McHale), and what happened to Patrick Dempsey’s obviously superior Mark Kincaid? Even after consulting our credible screams, our noodles are still twisted. But with production already well underway Scream VII At the forefront of the film’s planned February 27, 2026 Theater Release, we do not have to wait too long for answers. But so far, the result is that Stu Macher is alive and Sidney Prescott is in danger. And to that we have only two words to add: Living alone!
