LSU’s Sa’myah Smith and Ou’s Liz Scott threw out after switching

Baton Rouge, La.-Lsu-Pip Sa’myah Smith and Oklahoma tip Liz Scott were both pushed out after some cloudy midway through the first quarter of the seventh ranked Tigers’ 107-100 win over the 13th soon on Thursday night.

Oklahoma Center Beatrice Culliton fought for position in the paint with Smith when the two were entangled. Culliton raised his arm to create some separation and Smith is retaliated by pushing her to the ground. Scott, who was also in the paint area, responded by pushing Smith.

Smith was correlated by Joe Schwartz, lsus assistant for basketball operations. The teams separated and went back to their bench coming.

The normally smooth -knit Smith was called for a mistake on the play and then pushed out after a review.

“Pushing, I assume, considered matches,” said LSU coach Kim Mulkey, who received a technical later in the game, like Oklahoma coach Jennie Baranczyk. “It (Smith’s reaction) was shocking. It hurt our team where she wasn’t part of tonight because we’re trying to develop her. My old mentor (formerly Louisiana Tech trainer) Leon Barmore always said you have to keep a cool head in a hot game.

Games are resumed after the broadcasts with Oklahoma, which led 12-11. Soners took advantage of 6-foot-2 Smith’s advantage to keep it close and gather from a 24-point deficit late in the third quarter to get within a point in the last minute.
