Nirvana Stage Surprise Reunion at Benefit Concert for La Fires | ENTS & ARTS NEWS

The surviving members of Nirvana surprised fans by reuniting at a concert to raise money for Los Angeles Wildfire Relief efforts.

Thursday evening’s two-venue, five hours of extravaganza included performances from lots of natives in California and stars with ties to the region, but the Nirvana Geneforening was the biggest surprise of the evening.

Band members Pat Smear, Krist Novoselic and Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Performed with a series of guest -fed female vocalists.

Their set started with St Vincent as a frontwoman before Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon, Joan Jett and Grohl’s singer daughter Violet ended each on stage.

The supergroup avoided some of Nirvana’s best known songs, and instead made inspired choices and launched in race, school and territorial pensions. With the violet on stage, they closed their set with all the excuses.

The evening had been started by Billie Eilish and Green Day. Before their performance, actor Billy Crystal welcomed the audience at the Kia Forum, wearing the clothes he was wearing when he escaped from Pacific Palisades four earlier this month. He had lived in the area for 46 years and talked grips about losing his home.

The tagging little pill singer performed at the event with other artists such as Lady Gaga, John Mayer and Olivia Rodrigo.

One and a half hours later, actions also began to go to the stage of the Intuit Dome with the online broadcast, which is changed seamlessly between the two venues.

Dr. Dre also appeared next to Anderson .paak and Sheila E, and still covered Dre and classic, California’s love.

Behind the artists appeared images of firefighters and the destruction performed by fires on the screen. Survivors also talked about losing their homes and escaping fires between sets.

Joni Mitchell, Pink, Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Olivia Rodrigo were also among those who appeared.

The task of closing the show fell to Lady Gaga, who performed a new song written specifically for the occasion.

“It’s just for tonight, it’s just for you,” she said of the pitch, written with her fiancé, businessman Michael Polansky. “Time is a healer.”

Gaga also drifted through the Oscar-winning shallow, from a star is born and always remember us in this way.

Former American Vice President Kamala Harris And her husband, Doug Emhoff, was among those who attended the Intuit Dome concert.

Mr. Emhoff shared a picture of himself and his wife in their seats on Instagram with the headline: “Kamala and I are grateful to be at the FireAid concert tonight in our hometown of Los Angeles.

“It is a wonderful evening that shows the strength and resilience of our city as we begin to recover and rebuild from the devastating fire.”

The audience at home can donate online. Early at the concert, Crystal revealed that the band U2 contributed $ 1 million. (£ 804,829).

The owner of the basketball team Los Angeles Clippers, Steve Ballmer and his wife Connie will match all donations made during the concert.

All revenue goes to those affected by The devastating wildfires in Los Angeles Earlier in the month.

About 29 people died in fires where thousands of more homes and businesses were destroyed.
