Yikes! This was not a good day of guessing for your humble narrator. Things even started okay with Drake. I had a green box and later learned that there were only 87 possible solutions left. Shout gave me another three boxes and left me with only three more choices: coast, boast and toast, which I guess in that order one by one until I got Wordle after a huge five attempts. SUKK.
Competitive Wordle score

I get -1 points to guess in five and -1 to lose to bot if the first guess -crane -sent that when they came to guesses 3 and 4, neither the coast nor roast would be an option. -2 x 2 for 2xp Friday = -4 points for your real. Ouch.
How to Play Competitive Wordle
- Guess in 1 is worth 3 points; Guess in 2 is worth 2 points; Guess in 3 is worth 1 point; Guess in 4 is worth 0 points; Guess in 5 is -1 points; Guess in 6 is -2 points and missing Wordle is -3 points.
- If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie you get 0 points. And if you lose for your opponent you get -1 points. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily driving result or just play for a new score every day.
- Fridays are 2xp, which means you double your points – positive or negative.
- You can hold a running number or just play day by day. Enjoy!
Today’s Wordle ethymology
The word “toast” Coming from Latin Tostusmeaning “burnt” or “parched” that evolved through old French (Toster) to middle English. It was initially referring to toasted bread. In the 16th century, “toast” also came to mean spicy, toasted bread added to wine, which affected the modern meaning of raising a glass in honor. The figurative feeling of giving a “toast” to someone developed based on the practice of rhyming drinks with toasted bread, symbolizing honor and partying.
