Cal Yee Farm Chocolates Remember Upgraded: Consumption ‘May cause Death’

Federal officials have upgraded a chocolate recovery to the highest level of risk over fear that the ingestion of the product can “cause serious negative health consequences or death.”

Three products from Cal Yee Farm – Dark Chocolate Almonds, Dark Chocolate Abricos and Dark Chocolate Walnuts – have received a Class 1 classification to contain non -declared milk, according to FDA.

Non -declared milk in foods can lead to serious health problems for people with milk allergy, including hives, cramps, dizziness, raised vocal cords and unconsciousness and cause death, according to FDA’s update issued on January 22.

In December, Cal Yee Farm released an allergy alarm that remembers several of its chocolate and yogurt-covered products sold on its site and over Arizona, California, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

The recalled products included dark chocolate walnuts, dark chocolate raisins, dark chocolate almonds, yogurt coated almonds, dark chocolate apricots, tropical trail mix and butter toffee.

Cal Yee Farm also remembered its almonds, mango with chili, hot cajun sesame sticks, new orleans hot mix and fruit basket.

December -ADDRESS OLDER Alarm warned that the products may contain non -declared milk, soy, wheat, sesame, almonds and FD & C #6, a food dye.

Customers with allergies or sensitive liked “life -threatening” allergic reactions after eating the products, according to the press release.

Cal Yee Farm issued the recall after an FDA inspection of their facility revealed that products containing the potential allergens were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of milk, soy, wheat, sesame, almonds and FD & C # 6.

The snack manufacturer said it has solved the labeling problem for future products.

“We made a voluntary revocation of non -declared milk, soy, wheat, sesame, FD & C #6 and almonds in snack products due to outdated labels that do not specify allergenic declaration,” Cal Yee Farm said on its website Wednesday. “Labels are now in line with known allergens.”
