LSU-OKLAHOMA WOMEN’S GAME GETS LOOKS MODS PUBS, DRAFT AND KIM MULKEY’S CLIPBOODBOARD slack

The fans were definitely worth their money on Thursday night in Baton Rouge.

No. 7 LSU’s Wild 107-100 home win over No. 13 Oklahoma Thursday contained a player pushed to the ground, several sprayers, Lady Tiger’s head coach Kim Mulkey escaped a clipboard from an assistant hands and, oh yes, both head coaches receiving technical violations.

As they say, it just means more in SEC, and Mulkey said it marked one of the wildest games she has ever coached during her famous career.

“I was always told from my old mentor, Leon Barmore, you have to keep a cool head in a hot game,” Mulkey said as he discussed the draft of Sa’myah Smith. “Never let them see you sweat.”

She added, “I guess it was entertaining for the fans.”

The fireworks started early Thursday with Oklahoma Leading, 12-11, with 4:10 back in the first quarter when Soners’ Beatrice Culliton jumped for position at Smith.

The judges called a mistake on Smith before Culliton made a 180 turn against Smith while using her elbow to clear Smith’s hands -free.

Smith then pushed culliton to the ground to offset the fracas.

Oklahomas Liz Scott immediately came to his teammate’s defense and pushed Smith, who tried to go back against Scott before being blocked by a teammate and assistant.

Both Smith and Scott won spraying.

“Push, I assume, considered matches,” Mulkey said of the sprayers.

Mulkey, never one to shy from the limelight, then delivered meme-worthy material in the third quarter while she led, 67-45 as she released a binder out of assistant coach Seimone Augustus’ hands.

Augustus stood there with his hand held out for several seconds in an apparent state of shock, while Mulkey continued to scream and point.

Mulkey later earned a technical to argue for a mistake against Flau’jae Johnson.

Thursday’s game contained five technical, 53 combined violations and 63 combined free-kick trials, with LSU running at a 10-point break for an important conference benefit.

“We saw a lot of things tonight,” Mulkey said. “You saw spraying. You saw two teams score over 100. You saw a technical on the second flopp. … I got tee and she told me I got tee that was up to pointing the big screen. I definitely looked at the big screen and I wasn’t really happy, but I don’t know if I’m pointing. But she’s across the road. Either way. “
