Chocolate recall now classified as potentially deadly according to FDA

Anyone with a milk allergy should be on high alarm. According to FDAA Class 1 remind Means that there is “a situation where there is a reasonable likelihood that the use or exposure to a violation product will cause serious negative health consequences or death.”

The first recall announced in December 2024 included products sold in nine states: ArizonaCalifornia, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texasand Virginia. However, these products were also sold online, so the FDA warns shoppers to control their pantries if they also bought the products in other states.

According to the FDA, the recalled Cal Yee’s (or Cal Yee Farm Branded) products were packed in clear plastic zipper bags in either 8 oz, 1 lb, 2 lb and 5 lb size of a pale yellow label identifying the product in front of the bag and a Small white label that contains an UPC code on the back of the bag.
