Hatters has further strengthened their attacking options with a fourth addition of four days as the forward Josh Bowler signs loans from Nottingham Forest for the rest of the season.

The 25-year-old Spider has Widepsread experience in the championship, after playing against Hatters earlier for Blackpool and has also spent the last 18 months on loans in Cardiff City and this season, Preston North End.

Josh was born and raised in Surrey and started in QPR’s Academy before the Premier League Side Everton paid a significant fee to sign him as an 18-year-old.

He also had another-layer loan experience in Hull City while he was with Toffees before signing for Blackpool in the summer of 2021.

He scored five goals in 39 appearances for Cardiff last period when he played with Mark McGuinness before moving to Preston just before the end of the summer transfer window.

Manager Matt Bloomfield said: “Josh is someone with huge championship experience at a variety of clubs. He is a really creative spark at the top of the field, making the chances of others and he can end too. He has a point to prove and will play in a formation that we want to use.

“He has shown a lot of hunger and desire to come here, and he is someone we are really happy to have on board.

“I have seen him many times over the years, and he always stood out as someone who will come in to create. He can play in one of these three positions behind a nine of nine, so he brings versatility and we really look forward to working with him. “

After completing his medical in Brache, Bowler said, “I knew there was little interest in me to come to Luton and talk to the manager, he said he is quite happy for me and likes how I play.

“He remembered me from my time at Blackpool and Cardiff and was eager to get me in as I fit his system, so I’m really happy to be here.

“I’ve played most of my games in the championship, so I know the league from the inside out and I’m ready to get started.

“I have experienced playing on Kenilworth Road a few times, and it has always been one of the reasons I have found difficult to go to. Being able to play there week in, week with these fans on my site is something I really look forward to. “

Welcome to Luton, Josh!
