‘The View’ Star Sara Haines, Michael Strahan tear over daughter’s cancer

The view Panelist Sara Haines had an emotional reunion with her past GMA3 Cohost Michael Strahan when the TV personality joined the beloved talk show for a broad interview that included a tearful segment of his daughter Isabella and her cancer journey.

Strahan appeared Friday at the talk show to discuss his daughter’s upcoming ABC Special, Life interrupted: Isabella Strahan’s fight against cancerThere chronicates her diagnosis and subsequent treatment after she underwent an emergency in October 2023 to remove a large, malignant tumor called a medulloblastoma.

“Isabella’s first brain surgery left her having to re -learn how to go, talk and even eat on her own. She then went through a month of daily radiation, chemotherapy,” Haines said, looking to a question to Strahan as she fought back tears back tears live on the air. “(It shows) the pain of a parent who sees your child feels uncomfortable – and then few of us deal with this type of pain.”

After Haines asked Strahan what this experience was like for him, he replied, “You will make me cry” before discussing the difficulty he is facing by deciding whether to see his daughter’s special or not.

“I haven’t seen a vlog that she has done,” said Strahan, referring to Isabella’s documentation of her treatment on her YouTube Video series. “I don’t even know if I want to see this documentary, even though I attended and answered questions for it. It’s just too hard for me to see to relive it.”

Strahan added that he felt “hopeless” and “helpless” when he saw Isabella underwent treatment before his daughter was declared cancer -free in July 2024.

“You’re just a father who doesn’t know more than fixing it you can for your kids. I can’t fix this. All I can do is lean back and ask that we have the right doctors, and That it is something that can be treated so that she can come back to being as normal as possible and returned to her life, “said Strahan. I’ve learned so much to see her going through all this, but it’s the hardest thing to sit in a hospital room with your child and you just sit there and tell them you love them and have your kid looking at you and says, ‘Dad, I do what they say.

Haines praised her daughter as “a tigress” and paid tribute to “the strength that has come out of Isabella from seeing her face this.”

Haines and Strahan first worked together in a permanent capacity like cohosts on the third hour of Good morning AmericaOriginally the title GMA DAY, in 2018. The show was later renamed Strahan and Sara In 2019, before it underwent an additional title change to GMA3: Strahan, Sara and Keke After adding actress Keke Palmer to the panelist.
