Rapper YfN Lucci released from Fulton County Prison

Rapper YFN Lucci has been released from Fulton County Prison a little more than a year after pleading guilty to a charge as part of a Fulton County investigation of gang activity.

A spokesman for the Georgia Department of Corrections has confirmed with FOX 5 that the rapper, whose first name is Rayshawn Bennett, is “no longer in GDC’s detention.”

Back story:

The rapper was arrested in 2021 as part of a broad indictment of 12 people claiming officials are associated with sub-groups of the Bloods gang.

In the 105 count that came from a six-month investigation, investigators say Lucci and others committed a wide range of crimes to protect and improve the band’s reputation and to gain and maintain control of the territory. Bennett is charged with killing after police said he was the driver of a gang-related drive-by-shooting that killed a man.

In January 2024, Bennett pleaded guilty to a count of violation of Georgia’s law on terror and the prevention of street gangs. As part of his plea, prosecutors mentioned the remaining 12 of 13 counts.

As part of the placement, Bennett was sentenced to 20 years with 10 in prison and credit for serviced time.

The state did not agree to object to Bennett’s attempt to receive probation.

What they say:

In a statement released by his lawyer Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg, Gabe Banks and Pat Dixon, they shared: “Rayshawn Bennett, widely known as YFN Lucci, was awarded early release on trial friends and family.

“I’ve learned a lot in my time away,” Yfn Lucci shared in his official statement. “I am incredibly grateful to my family and friends – who have stood by me all the time. Now it’s my turn to give back. I want to use my voice, my platform and my music to inspire those who look up to me .

Girvan “Fly” Henry, CEO of Think, it’s a game records, issued the following statement:

“We are very excited about welcoming Yfn Lucci. His release not only marks a personal victory but also a moment of triumph for his family, his fans, and all thinks it is a game records family. Throughout his time Away, Lucci’s resilience and unshakable dedication to his craft has only become stronger.

What is the next one:

According to the court agreement obtained by Fox 5, Bennett remains on triallessness through 13 January 2031.

As part of his agreement, Bennett must work and be tested drug. He also cannot have any contact with the other defendants involved in the 2021 prosecution or a member or affiliated with a criminal street gang.

Bennet is not allowed to own or carry a weapon and will not be able to leave Georgia without permission.

The plan states that the rapper should live with his mother during his time at probation.
