A Judge of Oakland County refused most of a request from Jennifer Crumbley to get her acquitted or got a new trial in connection with Oxford High School shooting.

Crumbley, the shooter’s mother, was found guilty of four counts with involuntary killings last year. Her husband, James Crumbley, was sentenced on the same charges. They were each sentenced to 10-15 years in prison.

In December, Jennifer and her new lawyer, Michael Dezski, filed a proposal to overturn the verdict.

On Thursday, however, in Oakland County Cheryl Matthews refused most of the request. She did not make a decision as to whether Jennifer should get a new trial based on advancing agreements that the prosecution took two witnesses in the case.

Oakland County prosecutor Karen McDonald and the prosecution gave these agreements to Oxford High School advisor Shawn Hopkins and former dean of students Nicholas Ejak so that the statements they delivered to prosecutors could not be used to submit charges against them.

They were the last administrators who met the shooter before his violent in school.

“It is an agreement between an prosecutor’s office and a person that no matter what they say, as long as they are truthful, will not be used against them,” said criminal defense lawyers for Michigan President Arthur Weiss.

Jennifer’s defense claims that the prosecution never gave these agreements to his first defense lawyer, Shannon Smith.

On Friday, Matthew’s arguments heard about the profitable agreements during a movement hearing.
