Welcome to AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Week, where despite losing a certain size and duration last year, after the PGA Tour appointed the tournament for a “signature event”, it still ranks as Pro Golf’s most recognizable pro-am- event. Pro-Am is in the name even.

In two rounds – one on Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill – AMS plays with a professional before the latter goes alone this weekend. Last year, Rory McIlroy and amateur partner Jeff Rhodes won, although McIlroy finished the pro -part tied to 66.

“Yes, I got my name on the wall, just not the part I wanted,” McIlroy said Tuesday. “Yes, Jeff and I were doing well over 36. He obviously did most of the heavy lifting in these two days.”
