Witnesses share what happened when medical jet crashed – NBC10 Philadelphia

There were countless witnesses when a medical jet crashed near Roosevelt Mall in northeast Philadelphia on Friday night.

Many of those nearby when the crash happened took the time to talk to NBC10 and describe what they saw.

Here are some of their stories:

‘You could smell jet fuel’

A man working at a gas station, only two blocks from where the medical jet crashed into northeastern Philadelphia, talked to NBC10’s Siobhan McGirl about what he saw.

He explained that he was at the door when the crash happened. He said he heard this loud sound and the building began to shake.

“It just looked like something from a movie,” he said.

He said after the high Smell that there was a big fire visible inside the gas station. The man explained that he was trying to keep the door closed so that the other people would remain in safety against everything that fell from the sky.

“People still tried to go against smoke that was black smoke. You could smell the jet fuel, ”he told NBC10.

According to him, there were a whole series of cars that were completely shrouded in flames as well as a nearby home. The first respondents arrived very quickly and worked to keep everyone off the stage.

‘Everything was just shaking’

The witness describes what they saw just when a small plane crashed into northeastern Philadelphia on Friday night.

A man talked to NBC10’s Aaron Baskerville as the plane crashed on Friday and moments later when he said he saw a person on fire.

He was inside the Bath and Body Works store inside Roosevelt Mall when he said the building was shaking.

“Out of nowhere just shook everything. I thought the buildings fell or something,” he said.

He explained that he was going outside, he saw what looked like a “huge explosion.”

“And then I see someone who is on fire,” he said. “I can’t get it out of my head.”

‘Like daylight outside’

Gustavo Chaves was at home with his wife Sam near the place of the crash when he suddenly felt what felt like an “earthquake”, which made him look and see an orange sky.

“(It) the whole house shook. And then I was like, there’s an earthquake. Because you know, (when) it happened, I was like, ‘it’s an earthquake again,’ ‘remembered Chaves.’ I opened the window , and it’s like daylight outside, like complete, just orange. And I was like ‘something really bad happened.’ ‘
