DEJOULTE MURRAY maintains season ending Achilles late toss in Tab vs. Celtics: Source

New Orleans-Dejoide Murray tore his right Achilles-sen in the team’s 118-116 loss to Boston Celtics on Friday night and ended Pelican’s Guard’s season, according to a league source.

The damage happened while Murray, 28, tried to rebound his own unanswered shot with 3:51 back in the first quarter. Murray Hobbed immediately to the sidelines and was helped to the dressing room by the pelican trainer.

The nine-year-old veteran is out for the rest of the season, and with an injury of this magnitude his status at the start of next season also doubts.

The loss of Murray adds only a more devastating damage to a Pelican season that has been flooded with them since the start of training camp in early October.

After entering the season with the hope of another playoff quay, the pelicans are underway with a terrible 12-37 start to the season partly due to almost every member of the team’s primary rotation that lacks significant time due to damage to Different points of the year.

After acquiring Murray last summer in a trade in Atlanta Hawks, the Pelicans hoped to find some stability in the starting point of guard, and potentially another all-star runmate to pair with Star Forward Zion Williamson as Brandon Ingram’s future with the team is came in doubt.

Instead, Murray maintained a broken left hand in the fourth quarter of his pelican debut, which sidelined him in the next 17 games after he underwent an operation to repair the break. Since his return, Murray has started 30 of the team’s last 31 games, and in some stints showed a burgeoning chemistry with Williamson at both ends of the court.

Without Murray, the Pelicans are facing some critical questions before February 6th Trading deadline and beyond.
