Pentagon’s intelligence arm that pauses mlk, holocaust -er memory and other observations

The Pentagons intelligence arm has issued a memo that paused all activities in connection with Martin Luther King Jr. DAY, JUNETEENTH, BLACK HISTORY MONTH, LBGTQ+ PRIDE MONTH AND HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE DAY, including “Special Observations” of the note.

The memo listed 11 such observations that employees no longer have to recognize with office activities or events.

The move from the Defense Intelligence Agency is intended to comply with President Trump’s executive actions to end federal programs related to diversity, justice and inclusion in the military.

The contents of the note were first sent On X by independent journalist Ken Klippenstein.

A Defense Intelligence Agency spokesman did not confirm the memo, but said in a statement, “Defense Information Agency works with the Department of Defense to fully implement all executive orders and administrative guidance in a timely way. When we receive additional guidance we will continue to update Our internal guidance.

Mr. Trump signed one Executive Order On the day of inauguration, which calls for the “termination” of all “discriminatory programs, including illegal DEI and diversity, justice, including and accessibility (DEIA) mandates, policies, programs, preferences and activities in the federal government.” A week later, Monday, he signed another Executive Order Specially targeted at DEI employees and activities in the military.

Mr. Trump has underlined the end of the DEI questions and observations as an important part of his agenda and he suggested Thursday that dei May bear some blame for the deadly collision between a commercial plane and a black Haukhelicopter earlier this week, but when asked what proof he had seen to support the claim, he replied, “It could have just been. We have a high standard ”

Parts of the Pentagon have tried to comply with the executive order prior to a formal directive of the Department of Defense.

Last weekend, the air defense revised a course in basic military training related to diversity that also included videos of Tuskgee Airmen and Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPS). The short removal of the videos received a setback as the videos were briefly removed from training to review of the course.

Secretary General Brian S. Robinson, Command for Air Education and Education Commander, said in a statement after the review that the course had been revised to focus “on the documented historical heritage and decorated bravery that these units and airmen fought for our nation in the 2nd World War and on.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegeth In his first week on the job, a “Restoring of America’s combat force Taskforce” created to focus on eradicating the Pentagon’s DEI efforts. In a note, he ordered the Task Force to present a first report in March.
