After many years of conflict, the two sides announced in February last year that they had agreed to work to resolve their disagreements, including litigation derived from social media posts on the Israel-Hamas war. Negotiations broke down at the end of 2024 on the issue of wages, where the union also said the two parties had not reached a decision on the lawsuits.

On its website, the company said it will continue to work to reach a “agreement on a framework for one-store contracts.” Starbucks and the Union agreed to bring an external broker to the negotiations.

“We are proud to support Starbucks Baristas in their battle for a fair contract and their rapidly growing organizing movement,” the union said in a statement to Bloomberg on Friday.

Starbucks refused to comment beyond the statement on its website.
