Can Alabama expect warmer weather in February? Here’s the forecast for the last winter month

Saturday marks the first day of February 2025. Could the last winter month bring back the very cold temperatures in January?

Forecasts read against an answer to “No” from Saturday. In fact, February could largely end up getting hotter than average.

Noaa’s Climate Provision Center emits temperatures with longer reach and rainfall for the nation.

Forecasts have a monthly view of February that was updated on Friday. It suggests that Alabama will have greater probabilities of temperatures above average (for February) this month. (That the prospects are at the top of this post.)

The southeast corner of Alabama has the highest probabilities of over average February temperatures-60-70 percent according to CPC.

Also, a majority of the rest of the state does not do too badly with 50-60 percent odds of temperatures above average.

The northwest corner of the state has 40-50 percent odds.

The warmer end-average temperature view does not guarantee a month full of foamed weather. After all, it’s only a prognosis and there may be some really cold days mixed in.

The outlook for rainfall for the month is not so crucial, which suggests that the majority of the state will have equal chances of either above average or rainfall below average over the month.

The exception is the northwest corner of the state, which has a 33-40 percent probability of rainfall above average:

But back to temperatures. If you look at the shorter range, they all point over average temperatures as well as through the next month.

National Weather Service predicts a coming week that will feel more like spring than winter, with high temperatures every day for the most part in the 60s and 70s across the country.

The hottest days could be around the middle week, where parts of southern Alabama could see their first 80s in 2025. Here is the high temperature forecast for Wednesday:

The hot weather could also hang around in mid -February.

Are these forecasts a safe thing? By no means, but they also give a glimpse of climate trends that are expected over the next few weeks.

February marks the last month in the winter of 2024-2025. Meteorological spring begins on March 1st.
