Flurries, frosters temperatures that come as ‘arctic air invades the region’

Snow totals ‘insecure’ depending on where flurries are realized but accumulating snow is probably in several areas

A cold front moves over the lower mainland, starting Friday with the potential of flurries and temperatures that fall up to eight degrees during seasonal.

Some areas may see a quick burst of snow, and temperatures fall to near or below zero tonight, resulting in smooth conditions, according to the (31st of January) special weather declaration from the environment and climate change Canada.

Over the weekend, the winter weather conditions call as flurries and cold temperatures as Arctic air invades the region and an upper low pressure system brings moisture.

“Be aware of sudden reduction in visibility in convective flurries if you are traveling around the south coast this weekend.”

Accumulations are “uncertain at this time” and will depend where flurries are materialized, but the accumulation of snow is probably in many areas this weekend, including higher heights.

The ECCC says that snow warnings will be issued if necessary from now on the next several days.

With regard to next week, “very cold and dry air” is expected over the south coast with outflow conditions from an Arctic back with high pressure that settles over the region.
