New York sits four points behind Boston in the playoff image after consecutive defeat after a 6-0-2 stretch. Coach Peter Laviolette’s team has been inactive from game action since Tuesday when Carolina Hurricanes closed them, 4-0.

“Go up, keep trust, keep the positivity, and just keep playing as we have been and we get a good chance every night,” said the New York Center Vincent Trocheck.

Rangers’ recent two losses leave them at 8-3-3 in January.
