State Man Won the Irish Master’s Hearing at Dublin Racing Festival

State Man made it three Irish championship barriers in a row at the Dublin Racing Festival as his only serious rival fell.

State Man has done the Leopardstown Grade One Competition for its own, but was sent by 5/4 with Stablemate Lossiemouth 8/11 favorite.

The jump started ahead with the state’s man in close participation as opposed to the other three runners. It seemed to be a fascinating cat and mouse duel only for Tabiemouth to get four out all wrong under Danny Mullins, and drove on her for just the second time, and she took a sharp fall and almost brought the state down.

From there it was race over with the three remaining rivals that were not in the man of the class, and he duly negotiated the remaining obstacles with the smallest of the fuss.

Nick Luck grabbed a quick word with a pre -occupied Willie Mullins shortly after the race and Mullins broke off to talk to Lossiemouth’s owner Rich Ricci, who confirmed she was okay.

“It should be a hell of a race,” Mullins said. “Both jockeys went out to do what they would do and I didn’t upset them; it would be a hell of a race.”
