Ind vs meadow – gautam gambhir about India’s approach: ‘We will try to get to 250-260 regularly’

India’s coach Gautam Gambhir has hailed his players for embracing a high-risk approach, which picked them up with a high reward in the form of a 4-1 T20i series victory over England.

The procedure was especially evident in the last two T20i’s. Despite losing three wickets to fast bowler Saqib Mahmood in the other over in Pune, India’s fighters continued to attack and set 181 for 9, which proved 16 for many for England. In the last T20i in Mumbai on Sunday, India went bigger, crushed records and the England attack on their way to 247 for 9, their fourth highest T20i total.

“That’s the kind of T20 cricket we’ll play. We won’t fear losing a game of cricket,” Gambhir told the host -tv station. “We want to play high-risk high-risk. And these guys have adopted this ideology, this policy really well. And I think the ideology of this T20 team is based on selflessness and fearlessness. And I think in the last six months have these guys made that day in, day out.

“We will try to get to 250-260 regularly. And when we try to do it, there will be games where we will be gathered for 120-130. And that’s what the T20 cricket is all about. And unless until you Don’t play the high-risk cricket, you won’t get the big rewards as well.

India’s T20i-captain Suryakumar Yadav repeated his coach’s comments and said they will not weigh away from their ultra-aggressive playing style.

“I mean, that’s what we’ve sat down and talked about what brand cricket we want to play and we just stick to it no matter what will happen,” said Suryakumar at the presentation after the match. “And it’s a high -risk, high reward game. But at the end of the day, what works for us, we do.”

Gambhir delivered a glowing assessment of Mystery Spinner Varun Chakravarthy, which ended the series with a short-topping 14 wickets an average of 9.85 and economy of 7.66.

“I think his transformation from IPL to International T20 crick has been phenomenal,” Gambhir said of Varun. “And this series was probably also benchmarked because England is a high quality side. They have some really quality crickets and the kind of surfaces we’ve been playing on – I think they were amazing batting wickets and the way he has bowled these hard overs has been phenomenal.

Suryakumar was also impressed with Varun’s field. In Mumbai he took two catches, including a tumbling that ran in from deeply square legs to send Harry Brook back to two of four balls.

“I mean, he is a guy who has reached graciously worked hard with our Fielding Coach (T) Dilip Sir,” said Suryakumar. “And wherever he gets an opportunity, he spends that time on the field during exercise sessions. And it was good to see him put his hand up and tell that ‘I want field in outfield today’. And you saw the results. That’s Great.

Another big speech in this series was India, leaning heavily on spin and picking only a front line fast bowler in each of the five T20i’s. Gambhir explained that the team leadership would pair Varun with Ravi Bishnoi to give himself a stronger chance of beating in the middle overs without compromising the batting depth.

“I think it was very important to have Bishnoi and Varun Bowling in Tandem, especially in the middle phase,” Gambhir said. “We always knew that that kind of batting-line-up england has, they will always get hard against us in the first six overs. But that is the phase between seven and 15. Can we have these two wicket-take options in the middle?

“More important is that we have always wanted to have it # 8 dough, even if he doesn’t face many balls just because of the kind of cricket we play. We’ll try to go as hard as possible. Some times the pillow of having it # 8 (dough) allows the seven to go out there and play even more freely.
