Guard Juju Watkins and Southern California Trojans have traveled to Iowa City to play Iowa Hawkeyes In one Big Ten Women’s Basketball Matchup.

The Trojans (19-1, 9-0) enter the Matchup ranked No. 4 in US Today Sports Coaches Poll and is currently on a 15-match winning row. The team has not lost since a defeat of 74-61 to Notre Dame on November 23rd.

Watkins average 24.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per Fight in 20 starts this season. Forward Kiki Iriafen is almost average of a double-double with 18.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per day. Match.

Each fan got a yellow towel with a black screen of Clarks No. 22 jersey, the Iowa logo and 2020-2024.

“It’s been fun to look back on this whole last year and all that has been able to happen. Just the journey we went on,” Clark said.

Hawkeyes beats the No. 4 trophy at home. Lucy Olsen had 28 points, four rebounds and four assists for Iowa. Juju Watkins had 27 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Hawkeyes lead the Trojans 67-60 with 4:20 back in the last regulation period. Lucy Olsen stole the ball from Kiki Iriafen before running down the other end for a set -up. Iowa has 17 points off revenue (USC has turned the ball over 18 times). USC has 14 points off revenue (Iowa has 16 revenue).

Juju Watkins scored 23 points throughout the first three quarters of the game, making 6-of-17 shots off the field and walking 10 of 11 from the free throwing line.

Lucy Olsen had 13 points for Iowa through three quarters of the game, but had a quiet second quarter after walking 0-for-3 from the field and 1-for-2 from the free throwing line. Olsen turned things around in the third quarter after she went 3-for-4 off the field and made both free throwing attempts to finish with eight points.

Over a timeout in the third quarter, an Iowa fan was given the chance to make a 3-point from Clark’s “Spot” on the floor, where she hit a 3-pointer to become the all-time leading goal scorer in women’s basketball. (She would later break Pete Maravich’s basketball record for larger college.)

Iowa and USC exchange the lead through the early minutes of the third quarter. Hawkeyes lead the Trojans 33-32 with 8:20 back in the third quarter.

Juju Watkins and the USC end the late first half rally to lead Iowa during the break. Watkins produced the last 10 points for the Trojans, including the last four points in the last 20 seconds of the second quarter to take the lead into the dressing room.

Her second layup was made when she sprinted down the field after stolening the ball from Aaliyah Guyton. Watkins scored a game-high 18 points for the Trojans in the first half. Taylor McCabe led Hawkeyes with nine points.

Juju Watkins scored a couple of free kicks to make it a two-point game between Iowa and USC with 1:54 back in the second quarter.

USC went on an 11-0 scoring race to review back to the game and Trail Iowa 24-21 with 2:05 back in the second quarter.

Kiki Iriafen made four free throw to increase the USC’s point in total to eight in the middle of the second quarter. Hawkeyes remain in full control of the game leading the Trojans 23-8 with 5:22 back in the period.

Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall, who together with Clark formed the core of the teams who made back-to-back national championship games, were available for the retirement of Clark’s jersey. Marshall accompanied Clark to his news conference before the game, while Martin was introduced between the first and the second quarter.

Iowa allowed only one point throughout most of the first quarter before Juju Watkins made a three-point with 26 seconds back during the opening period. Iowa has won the turnover match 7-3 in the first quarter, with Hawkeyes having 11 of their first quarter point from revenue.

Former Iowa coach Lisa Bluder participates in Hawkeyes’ game against the USC. The blows were Clark’s coach in Iowa. The blows withdrew after the 2024 season.

She sits next to the earlier in the evening TV talk show host David Letterman. Bluder developed a friendship with Letterman after participating in a game involving Indiana Fever, Clark’s WNBA team.

Hawkeyes starts the game on an 11-1 scoring race with six minutes left in the first quarter. Guard Taylor McCabe scored six of the 11 points after shooting 2-of-4 from the 3-point line.

How is it for Caitlin Clark to be back at Iowa?

Clark said she assumed she would be able to spend a lot of time at Iowa this low season, but this is only the second time she has been back on campus. (The first was in October when her team received their Big Ten championship rings.)

“It’s just fun for me to come back and just say” thank you “to everyone who poured so much into me and let me be big,” Clark said. “None of this happens without all these people who pour themselves into our team and our program every single day.”

It’s still a bit strange to get to the arena knows she won’t play.

“You have these butterflies in your stomach when you go in here. Not so much for a basketball game now, but just to be around everyone and enjoy the environment,” Clark said. “You’re a little more vulnerable. I don’t have to go and compete for 40 minutes, though I might wish I could.

“It will definitely be a little more emotional that I don’t have to compete and play for 40 minutes.”
