Periods of snow continue across the lower mainland into the first half of Monday before taking the afternoon hours. However, snow will ramp up for parts of Vancouver Island.

On the way into Monday night and early Tuesday, we see Strait-Effect-Sne continue for eastern Vancouver Island. Severe snowfall is expected around Tofino and Ucluet when wind converges over the area. We see lingering snow for the golf islands and southern Vancouver Island.

Heavy Snow Bands will also target the Golf Islands and the Southern Vancouver Island and extend from the Saanich Peninsula to the Comox Valley.

This will be a very effective snow event throughout the region with road closures, cancellations of the school and significant travel disorders expected Monday and Tuesday.

The Arctic chill continues over the end of the snowfall. When the snowfall falls on Tuesday on Vancouver Island, the daytime will dive to good under-seasonal values. The added snow pack on the ground adds an extra chill with clearing sky.
