Beyonce has won the coveted album of the Year award at this year’s Grammy Awards.

In spite of being Most nominated artist in Grammy HistoryBeyonce has never won before in the top category where Gong avoided her four times before.

Just three color women have won this year’s album before her, the last of which was Lauryn Hill 26 years ago.

Presented by members of Los Angeles Fire Department, Beyonce, along with his 13-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter, became to accept the top prize for his chart-topping album Cowboy Carter.

She said she felt “honored,” added, “It’s been many, many years, and I just want to thank Grammys, every songwriter, every partner, every producer, all the hard work.”

Beyonce has previously been a vocal about the lack of victories in the great Grammy categories for artists in colors, which she said largely were referred to the genre.

Last year her husband, rap star Jay-Zaddressed the supervision and said to the audience, “I don’t want to bother this young lady, but she has more grammys than everyone and has never won this year’s album. So even with your own measurements it doesn’t work.”
