Liam Payne, Toby Keith and more honored during Memoriam in Grammys 2025

Grammy’s 2025 honored those we’ve lost.

The In -MeMoriam -Segment contained Chris Martin and sang the Coldplay song “All My Love” when the ceremony honored music stars who died in the past year, including Liam Payne and Toby Keith.

Tribute began with excerpts of recordings of Payne, including from his time as a member of One Direction.

Martin’s performance then honored several Grammy winners who went last year, including Kris Kristofferson, Steven Albini, Cissy Houston, John Mayall, Dickey Betts, Angela Bofill, Joe Bonsall, Fatman Scoop, Sandra Crouch, Richard Sherman, Joe Chambers, Duane Eddy , Sam Moore, Frankie Beverley, Rich Homie Quan, Bob Newhart and Wayne Osmond.

The segment ended in honoring Keith, who died in February 2024 at the age of 62 after a Fight with stomach cancer.

Payne, meanwhile, died tragically at the age of 31 on October 16, 2024. He fell to his death from the third floor of his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Medical officials confirmed that the star had a “cranial bride and extremely serious injuries led to his immediate death.”

Witnesses told TMZ that Payne was acting “erratic” before his sudden departure. He allegedly crushed his laptop in the hotel lobby and was traced back to his room before the fall.

Payne’s autopsy later decided that the singer had a toxic blend of medications in his system, including crack and so-called “pink cocaine”-a blend of ketamine and other drugs.

Five people have been indicted in connection with Payne’s death, including his friend, Roger Nores and the hotel’s receptionist and security manager.

After news of Pay’s death, his One Direction released – Bandmates – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan – a joint statement in their official Instagram band account.

“We are completely destroyed by the news of Liam’s passing. Over time, and when everyone is capable of it, there will be more to say, ”they wrote. “But so far we will take some time to mourn and treat the loss of our brother that we loved very much. The memories we shared with him will be appreciated forever. For the time being, our thoughts with his family, his friends and fans who loved him with us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam. “

The four former boy band members all participated in Payne’s private funeral in Isham, England, in November 2024.

The bleak reunion marked the first time the pop stars were together since Malik left one Direction in 2015. The band went indefinitely in 2016.
