School delays and closures in kitsap due to snow, cold temperatures

South Kitsap Schools and Crosspoint Academy Campus in Bremerton will be at a two-hour delayed start Monday morning, with the messages coming on Sunday night after flurries to and from the day left at least a dust of snow in most parts by Kitsap County.

Mason County also saw Snow Sunday, and Shelton and Grapeview schools also start two hours late, the districts announced.

This story will be updated if other districts announce delays or closures on Monday morning.

Overnight temperatures across kitsap are expected to remain during freezing, increasing the possibility of icy roads in the morning.

The latest weather balletin issued by National Weather Service in Seattle predicted intermittent show showers early in the week and said the most likely day of sneak cumulation in the lowland areas will enter Monday morning. The areas with the highest potential to see considerable snow on Monday are along the northern Pacific coast of Whatcom County.

The risk of snow in kitsap county is now expected to gradually fall through the week, but with cold days that will look heights in the 30s and low, potentially dip into teens.
