OVERVIEW

A challenging forecast continues through at least Thursday. That’s because we’re in a “showers and Sunbreaks” pattern that you saw today. Usually we will say “Expect spread showers mixed with sun at times the next four days“And that would be fine. But (for good reason!) When temperatures fall close to freezing we actually break ourselves when Showers show up and how much We get out of these showers.

Key points

  • Precipitation will be very easy Monday and Tuesday. Actually Most of both days will be dry.
  • Temperatures hardly fall to freeze the next two nights and then rise well over freezing every day.
  • For that reason, we are only concerned overnight and early morning hours w/respect for the road conditions. Your life must continue as usual these days otherwise.
  • First Alarm Weather Days Monday and Tuesday are only for Morning Penders. The rest of each day, any snow that adheres quickly melts in the lowlands. Scattered school delays are probably both mornings.
  • More moisture Wednesday and Thursday along with a cool eastern breeze gives a better chance of widespread adhesive.

Scattered showers, mainly as snow. Up to 1 ”accumulation with the best chance on hills. Some wet roads could freeze. Make temps 30-35 °

Monday and Tuesday

Partly overcast, a few light mixed showers. Nothing to 1 ”on the ground to start, then little or no one clings the rest of the day. Temperatures 40-45 ° in the afternoon. There will be a few scattered spots with snow/ice on roads early, then just weigh the rest of the day throughout the metro area

Wednesday and Thursday

New data shows the potential for more widespread showers over an increasingly cold eastern wind coming out of the gorge. This can be a setup for a major snow event in the metro area, so we are watching closely Wednesday and Thursday
