WhatsApp introduces event planning in private chats for beta users

WhatsApp revealed a new feature in its beta version that enabled users to create and share events in one-on-one-chat.

The feature included in WhatsApp Beta version 2.25.3.6 for Android and version 25.2.10.73 for iOS, allowed planning and management of events in private conversations.

According to the Wabetainfo report, this functionality had previously been left under development, but had now been made available to some beta testers. It had already existed in group chats, but had not been available in individual conversations.

With this introduction, users no longer needed to rely on external calendars or third-party applications for planning personal appointments and one-on-one meetings. The option for the creation of events had been integrated into the sharing menu of private chats along with cameras, gallery and document sharing options.

Users could enter event information such as name, date, time, location and even generate a WhatsApp video or voice call link. Those enrolled in the WhatsApp -beta program on Android or iOS could update their applications to check the availability of the feature. If it wasn’t available, it was expected to roll out to all users soon, including non-Beta participants.
