Daniel Abed Khalife was convicted last November of collecting military and classified information to Iran between 2019 and 2022 and getting information that would probably be useful for terrorism.

Khalife’s “Personal Details and Movements,” including while being trained by an “International Training Operation in the United States of America,” was among the information adopted, the judge announced during the criminal offense.

Khalife, who was discharged from the armed forces after he was indicted, also admitted to fleeing London’s Wandsworth prison in September 2023 while awaiting trial on the other charges. He tied to the bottom of a delivery car and triggered a nationwide Manhunt before being caught days later.

The 23-year-old, whose mother was born in Iran, had said he was a patriot and had contacted both Britain’s MI6 and MI5 intelligence services about his contacts and said he would be a “double agent.” He had said he and his family hated the Iranian government.
