A proposed protective order is due on March 11, and the trial is still determined by March 2026.

Lively, Lively had accused Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, of attacking his character in statements shared with the media. The actress’s lawyer, Michael Gottleib, told court that Freedman has shared his views and statements in the press when it was all handled in court.

Freedman fired back in court and said “they started it” by allegedly working with the New York Times to publish an article that attacked Baldoni. Freedman noted that when the allegations “hit the press”, readers will “give an opinion on who is right and who is wrong.” Baldoni sued the New York Times for defamation of the article. Freedman said that even though “they started it” sounds like an argument that a 4-year-old would do, Lively’s team said something first, and when someone says something, it becomes fact.

“This is not a one -way street,” Freedman explained when he called Lively’s team for statements from the press. He pointed to statements in which Baldoni was accused of being an addict and using defense tactics that “turn tables on the victim.”

Despite the heated back and forth, Freedman seemed “satisfied” with the result of Monday’s hearing.

“Our clients are broken and want to move the matter as soon as possible,” Freedman told journalists outside the courthouse. “We just couldn’t be more satisfied with how the case was handled today, how it was managed.”

“We will move as fast as we might and prove our innocence, in a world where people sometimes judge you before giving you a chance. And we will change it.”

Lively’s team said they are “happy with the result of today’s hearing and eager to move on immediately with the discovery in this case.”

“The court responded to our request that all lawyers in the case actually follow the rule of law and not make any statements that could distribute a jury,” said Lively’s lawyers, Michael Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, in a statement delivered to Fox News Digital.

“This case deals with serious accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation. We will keep the defendants responsible, and we are convinced that when all the evidence is presented in this case, Lively will win.”
