Trae Young, Hawks End Mose Skid with 132-130 Victory Over Detroit Pistons

Atlanta Hawks played the stamps in Detroit for the last game on their road trip. The starting lineup looked a little different with de’handre Hunter on the four; Trae Young, Dyson Daniels, Zaccharie Risacher, De’Andre Hunter and Onyeka Okongwu.

Hunter scored the first seven points in the game for Hawks. Young grabbed the officials after he was hit in his face and no mistake was called. He was, of course, rewarded with a technical error. The first quarter played evenly and the pistons led 35-34 into the second.

Hawks overtook the lead early in the second. Young had already noted 13 points. With 5:16 Hawks Himped by seven. Hunter pushed Ausar Thompson as things started to become Chippy. After review, Hunter earned a technical error.

Hawks led 73-64 at half.

De’Anre Hunter picked up two quick errors in the third quarter and left the game by four. The pistons quickly deleted their deficit by dominating the paint and tying the game at 75 with an 11-2 race. Hawks would end the third quarter that led 101-98.

Early in the fourth, Michael Beasley made an obvious error on Risacher leading to a dangerous fall in the transition. Risacher was slow getting up but remained in the game. Hawks led 111-101 after his free kick. With under five minutes left in the game, Cade Cunningham cut the deficit to four with one three. Young then answered with a corner three of his own. However, the stamps still managed to bring the game within two afterwards. With about three minutes left, the Tobias Harris game tied again and then gave his team the lead.

Young reacted again with a three to take the lead. He then earned his fifth mistake that reached four in the fourth quarter alone.

With 26.5 seconds left, the game was tied to 130 with the possession of the ball. Young spiked a step back -winner with 1.6 seconds left.
