Portland Trail Blazers vs. Phoenix Suns: Game Preview, Prediction, Time, TV Channel

The Portland Trail Blazers Removed Phoenix Suns from each other in several categories during Saturday evening’s 127-108 victory at Moda Center.

Blazers won points in the paint (66-32), Fastbreak Points (29-7), second chance (15-8) and turns (10-19).

Winning these areas enabled Blazers to survive shooting only 18.8% from three-point range in the second half.

Expect Suns to come out hungry to turn these trends on Monday night after having a day off in Portland. They played Saturday night after winning Friday night in Golden State.

Suns can’t afford to lose matches against a 20-29 team. Phoenix (25-23) is tied to eighth place in the western conference with Dallas Mavericks (26-24), who thinks they were better defensively by shopping Luka Doncic for Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis on Saturday night.

Right behind these two teams are Sacramento Kings (24-24) and Warriors (24-24), tied to 10th place, just a game behind Suns.

Kings added Zach Lavine from Chicago Bulls in a three-team agreement that sent all-star guard de’aaron Fox to 12th place San Antonio Spurs (21-25).

So things have become more interesting in the lower half of the western conference position, which puts pressure on Suns to stay ahead of the competition.

Forecast: Suns are likely to have a better offensive evening. But can they handle Blazers’ violation? Center Deandre Ayton is a problem for his former team desperately needs a center. And Blazers showed on Saturday that they can win as a team of seven players scoring in double. Still, Phoenix has been the superior team this season and does not leave Portland without a win.
