As if the last few days in the NBA were not already crazy enough, the Golden State Warriors are also open to business prior to the February 6th trading period and seems to make a bigger splash.

“Warriors call legitimately about any All-Star player,” Espns Shams Charania reported Monday during a performance on The Pat McAfee show. “You just name the All-Star player Warriors probably called them. Paul George, they probably call, they have called. They called every star. And of course that includes players like LeBron James, players like Kevin Durant, players like Jimmy Butler.

Warriors also stick around in another superstar:

The latest for Warriors who should not come as a surprise to anyone:
They want Giannis Antetokounmpo.

For Warriors, the league-wide study makes sense. Stephen Curry is 36 years old and his window does not remain open forever. Dubs do not have a real star to pair with him, and the result has been a mediocre 24-24 record that currently has the team just outside a play-in tournament quap.

And with San Antonio Spurs, who got de’aaron Fox, the last postal season and play-in tournament seeds were just as overloaded. The spurs are currently only 21-25, 12. In the West, but Fox should make them better.

Whether Warriors will succeed in landing another star is another matter completely.

Last week it would have been easy to write that there is absolutely zero chance that Milwaukee Bucks would even consider shopping Giannis Antetokounmpo. It’s probably still true, but Dallas Mavericks dealing with a franchise corner like Luka Dončić – apparently without asking for such a movement, or even being aware that it was an option – has forever changed the limits of what that feels like a possible potential trade.

Still, the Greek freak is probably no place.

Los Angeles Lakers, fresh from the shocking acquisition of Dončić, will not act James. And they couldn’t even do it if they wanted to unless he signaled a desire to play for Warriors considering his clause without trade.

It also seems unlikely that the Philadelphia 76ers will share ways with George after less than a season together. Sixers have been saddled with significant injuries throughout the season 2024-25 and has not really seen how the trio George, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey will cope when healthy. Philly has been bad this season, but Sixers still has their own championship window with Embiid to consider in the future.

Durant is a fascinating name to consider for two main reasons. One, his reunion with Curry in the Golden State would send the NBA world into a tail spin. Imagine the memes.

But two, if Phoenix Suns can’t find a way to improve the team around Durant and Devin books due to Bradley Beal’s clause without trade moving on from Durant and embracing a soft reset, it could be their best path forward. Suns are only 25-23 and the vest is loaded up-holder status quo really so beneficial?

Still, it feels more likely that the team seems to strengthen around Booker and Durant.

Finally, the addition of a player like Butler would probably have been the most realistic result of the above names whose butler was willing to sign an extension with the team.

However, it can be a blessing in disguise for Warriors.

Given his dubious fit in the Golden State-Male and Greens are both secondary facilitators that present some problems of flooring in the offensive end and a story of forcing themselves out of franchises on non-ampable manners, he would not have been The best option for dubs in their all-star shopping spree.

However, if he changes his attitude to sign an extension with the team, he will be the most realistic option.
