WARNING: Larger spoilers are in front of the series final of 9-1-1: Lone Star on Fox, called “Homecoming” and set to stream with a Hulu subscription.

An era is completed on the fox, as the heroes of 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s station 126 has responded to their last emergency in 2025 TV plan. The effort was soaring at the end of the fifth and last season with an asteroid that threw against Austin. Throw a potential nuclear meltdown, a handful of severely wounded firefighters and Tommy appears near death in “Homecoming” and I must praise Lone Star Keep to come with a happy ending for everyone … sorts.

There was one thing that I wish the serial final had done differently, even while I brought the story to a full circle, but that’s my own fault to get my hopes up. I just wish we had seen Sierra McClain seam Mercy One last time.

9-1-1: Lone Star comes in full circle

Lone Star Really seemed to set up the final crisis in a way that someone should lose their lives and there were plenty of candidates. OwenAt JuddAt MarjanAt Pauland Mateo Everyone had severe scrutiny from trying to close the nuclear reactor while Tommy gasped after air with Nancy and Tk Only have so many resources to help her.

I personally thought that Tommy seemed one of the two most likely to die, especially after Gina Torres Did not want breast cancer history. Owen also did not seem long for the world as soon as he began to dizzy after the big, world -saving button, and “Homecoming” went the extra mile to sell that he had lost his life. In fact, I wouldn’t have been angry with it as Owen would have had a heroic last act, but his actual ending is much healthier.

No one died! In fact, there were happy endings to walk around. Tk and Carlos got custody over JonahWith TK, who withdrew from his work as an EMT to be a home-father to his son/bridge. Tommy went in a remission bordering to miraculously, Marjan has a baby on his way after Joe Finally returned to the series, Mateo successfully argued his case to avoid deportation with Nancy by his side, and Judd became the new 126 captain after starting the season as a probie in Lone Star‘s big attempt at a fake-out.

Because Owen did not actually die from his injuries! Instead, he left Austin to take the position of NYC Fire Chief that he had been so tempted by earlier in the last season. He was back in the city he loved, after surviving and healed over his years in Texas. Happy endings around!

Well, kind.

Where was grace?

Despite Judd’s significant battle with alcoholism in the latter half of Season 5, I can’t imagine a better ending to the character as a firefighter than becoming captain of 126. As a man and father, however, I would not have loved more than for Sierra McClain at make one last performance as grace. Even though it was just a zoom como for grace to see her husband’s ceremony and say hello to the adorable CharlieWould it really have finished the final on a high note.

And this is my own fault that I was disappointed not to see her because co-showrunner Rashad Raisani confirmed to Tvline Way back in November 2024 that she didn’t even want a como, and he even opened up Cinemablend to find a solution to Grace’s “hard to swallow” decision to leave Judd and Charlie. I should have known that a surprising McClain performance did not come.

But dang what I loved Judd and Grace’s relationship, and I couldn’t help but cross my fingers that she would be back on screen again. At least the final did not end with the two having split. They are still married and presumably like in love like ever … We just didn’t get one last look.

Did to the Grace’s absence the final for me? Certainly not, and I am now in the mood to return to the beginning and see the pilot again to really experience how far all the characters have come since the beginning. The full series will be available streaming at Hulu when the final is added to the library.

And primetime is not missing 9-1-1 Action completely even though the mid -season premiere 9-1-1 Season 7 is still more than a month away. The seventh season returns to ABC on March 6th.
