On Monday morning, ESPN Senior NFL insider Adam Schafter reported that Cleveland Brown’s linebacker Myles Garrett has requested a trade after eight seasons in northern Ohio.

One of the first teams that emerged as a potential landing site for Edge Rusher is Washington commandersand Bleacher Report’s NFL Insider James Palmer breaks down what this trade can look like.

Consensus on compensation for Garrett is probably a first round draft choice along with another compensation that several lower draft elections or a player will be thrown in, but it will be a kind of package for Garrett.

“Remember that they have fewer players under contract in 2025 than any other team in football,” Palmer said in the video. “Adam Peters also has an exorbitant amount, they have $ 78 million in Cap space right now, it’s the third largest in the NFL.”

He continues to discuss how Washington’s first priority is to protect Jayden Daniels, but that doesn’t mean they won’t look at this.

“They have a lot of capital, but is this the type of changing type of movement that an organization like Washington is capable of doing? Some people around the league believe it.”

Commander has a good amount of capital to work with by 2025, but they also don’t have to make lots of changes. They were very successful in 2024 and really need to hone a few positions to solidify this team. Garrett could be one of these pieces, and Dan Quinn might be just the right guy to deal with Garrett’s colorful personality.

Currently, the Browns have no real interest in trading Garrett for a variety of reasons. But this is Myles Garrett and we all know that if he does not get his way, the whole world will hear about it. It may be a extracted process full of drama, but it is unlikely that Garrett fits Cleveland in 2025. Whether he lands with commanders or is not left to see but he could certainly help the running defense desperate need to be treated this season.
