Winter Weather Advisory Issued to North Missouri County

A winter weather counseling has been issued for parts of the northern-central and northeastern Missouri, as freezing rain and freezing rainfall are expected by Wednesday. The advisory, issued by National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill, will remain in force from 1 p.m. 3 to 18 Wednesday, February 5th.

Counties east of Mercer, Grundy and Livingston counties are included in the winter weather counseling.

Several of the communities included in the advisory area are Milano, Unionville, Brunswick, Salisbury, Marceline, Moberly, Lancaster, Green City, Chillicothe, Queen City, Trenton, Mercer, Kirksville, Princeton, Brookfield, La Plata, Greentop , Glenwood, Downing, Macon and Keytesville.

Forecasts predict total ice collections of up to one tenth of an inch, which can create difficult travel conditions. The dangerous weather can affect both Wednesday morning and evening pendants.
