Grammy Awards: Beatles, Stones, Beyoncé and Charli XCX Win Early Awards

None of the artist was there personally to gather their original trophies when they were to perform at the headline ceremony later in the evening.

However, Charli’s producer, Finn Keane, accepted the award for Dans/Pop Single (von Dutch) on her behalf and called her a “fantastic partner”.

“She has been making this kind of music for 10 years, but everyone is just caught up to it,” he added.

Her album, abruptly, also won the award “Best Packaging”, and recognized the deliberate ugly lime art with low resolution, which became an important part of her branding last year.

John Lennon’s son, Sean Ono Lennon, picked up the Beatles’ award and called them “the biggest band of all time”.

“I just want to say, play the Beatles music for your kids,” he added. “I feel like the world can’t afford to forget about people like The Beatles. We need this music in the world, we need peace and love and we need the magic in the 60s to hold alive.”

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar won three consecutive prizes -best rap -song, best rap performance and best music video -for not like us, his non -team -barrier -blocked removal of fellow musician Drake.

His producer, Mustard, accepted the awards and noted, “He performed his ass on that song, right?”
