Is chance to rise for Kansas City Wednesday

Kansas City, Mo. (KCTV)- We have had a first warning Wednesday for several days and highlights the risk of freezing rain and icy roads. This chance increases with National Weather Service expanding an advisory winter weather south to include Kansas City Metro throughout noon.

The morning brings very light and uneven areas of drip, so a widespread iced root is not likely. But smooth spots are a good effort … so extra caution is wise. The most widespread freezing drip can occur closer to lunch with temperatures still at or just below the freezer. We are probably heated enough at. 14 to switch to rain and we need to be dry shortly after sunset.

The biggest concern will be bridges, sidewalks and untreated roads. In total, a glaze for 0.10 ″ is possible. Areas south of Kansas City, not included in the winter weather advice, can still see short and very isolated areas with freezing drip, but these areas are more likely to see rain.

Thursday is a nice break with sunshine and warmer in his mid -40s, then cool Friday some. We also warn you until Saturday, with another round of potential light rain and freezing rain in the morning (though this one looks more out of a look at this time). Super Bowl Sunday will be dry with cool 30s to heights.

Winter continues to grab us next week with a snow chance for Tuesday. At this point, a few centimeters are possible if the track remains as it is currently.
