There were a number of elevators and some serious attacks that went down well with the audience despite a stumble midway through.

However, after the routine, which scored 29 points, host Stephen Mulhern revealed that Sam was far from 100 percent.

He explained that the actor had an accident in rehearsal that saw his shoulder detached and it was necessary to help jump back in.

A viewer wrote: “Sam is brilliant! Despite the stumbling and the accident before tonight’s performance he still carried and did not give up. Well done Sam.”

Another said, “Sam stumbles, but he did well to skate with a bad shoulder, hopefully he can recover and get his confidence back.”

Before the routine, Sam caught the former co -star Malcolm Hebden who played Norris Coles.

The two friends spoke inside Roy’s rolls, and Sam admitted that Malcolm was like a father figure when he first started working on the soap as a young boy.

Sam was not the only one in the wars.

Pro -skater Vanessa Bauer was forced to retire all the way back today after suffering an injury in training.

In a video Vanessa said, “I’m here today with rather troubling News. Unfortunately, I will not be able to continue dancing on ice cream with Chris.

Dancing on Ice Star ends the series only hours before live show after devastating damage

“It’s really disturbing to me. I’ve been training Chris since October last year and it’s always such an amazing achievement for myself to see another go so much in a skill they’ve never done before.

“So it’s been really rewarding for me to see this whole journey for Chris (and) the way he has a better week since October and since the live shows started.

She then continued to explain what had happened and how to put her health first.

Vanessa said: “Unfortunately, I had a little accident behind the scene last week at the Dancing On Ice just before the Live show on Sunday.

“And I didn’t realize how bad it was then, but we did an MRI, and it turned out that I have a completely torn ligament, degree three spraining damage and a major spraining injury in class two.

“I should not go skating on such a damage, and so I take all the advice of the medical professionals here, I am in very good hands.”
