Deaths confirmed by shooting on adult education facility in Sweden, police say

London – “About 10” people died in a shooting on Tuesday at an adult education facility in Orebro, Sweden, according to police.

Authorities did not say if the suspect was among the dead.

The victims were found inside the school complex, police said during a press conference Tuesday night local time. The school is currently closed.

Terror is currently not considered a motive, according to police.

Police said earlier that the shooter may be among the wounded ones treated in the hospital but said “nothing is clear yet.” Police initially said five people were taken to the hospital. No ages have yet been given of the victims.

Officials said in a statement that they urged the public to stay away from Risbergska Skolan, a municipal education center in the Vasthaga area in Orebro. The school is for students over 20 years old, according to its website.

Law enforcement in the Bergslagen region began around 2 p.m. 13 local time to send a series of short statements and initially said that a “major operation” was underway and the school was threatened by “deadly violence.”
