Snow and ice could create dangerous travel conditions Thursday morning in NJ

Storm team update: An incoming weather system could create a wintry mix followed by icy conditions. This can pose dangers on roads for Thursday morning. We still collect information about this system, stays at News 12, and we put new updates when they become available.

Two similar weather systems are expected to pass through New Jersey this week Thursday and Saturday night to Sunday morning.

Thursday’s weather event starts overnight Wednesday to Thursday as snow, accumulating 1-2 inches in our northern zones. A transition to rain takes place from south to north as the storm passes through the morning. The rain at the top of the snow is the greatest danger as it causes a dangerous icy icing glaze that can create slides and falls beyond challenging travel conditions. Roads will be smooth, especially if not treated. This is the worst form of transition when it starts as accumulated snow but ends up as rain.

The rain is trying to push north into the northern/northwest hills, and it will be a battle zone with a winter blend of gossip, snow, rain and ice throughout the morning. Thursday’s weather is improved after 7 p.m. 14.00

Between now and then, the weather conditions will be fair. Comfortable and slightly windy conditions move through New Jersey today with afternoon temperatures in the lower 40s for this afternoon. Wind will be healthy from the west/northwest of 15-20 km/h at times. It remains mostly sunny.

Wednesday is not bad at all, but clouds rise all day. This creates a cloudy in the evening. It will be colder with heights in the mid -30s.

After the Thursday, as Storm rolls through, Friday must be fair with a mostly sunny sky and near normal temperatures.

We repeat the snow to rain and ice on Saturday night and overnight until Sunday. The timing is different with this system as it begins late at night on Saturday and accumulates the snow throughout the night. The shift happens overnight, and thus the effect is a little more limited as most people do not travel at the time. It should end with sunrise on Sunday morning with improving conditions throughout the day.

The reservation with Thursday the weather system will be the timing – if it starts early (near 1 AM Thursday) as predicted, it will have a moderate glaze. But if it starts closer to 1 p.m. This is carefully monitored.
