Search for murders suspect in Greenbrier, Tennessee in progress

Robertson County, Tenn. (WKRN) – The authorities of Robertson County are looking for a “dangerous” suspect after a man was found dead during a welfare control.

Robertson County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) said deputies were sent to Fisher Grove Road in Greenbrier on Tuesday, February 4 to carry out a welfare check.

In the dwelling, officials allegedly found a deceased man. Deputies said that a preliminary investigation shows that a “domestic situation” occurred between a stepfather and step -son.

The sheriff’s office announced that they are searching for Jimmy Anthony Cox for his connection to the incident.

It is believed that he travels on foot and is described as 6’1 ″, 175 pounds with blue eyes and bald. Deputies added that he was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and black shorts.

According to RCSO, Cox is considered “considered dangerous” and anyone who discovers him must immediately call 911.

Robertson County Director of Schools said schools in the Greenbrier area are on a soft lockdown ahead of 14:40 dismissal.

The director also told News 2 school buses may not run on Fisher, Smiley Hollow or Greenbrier Roads, adding that parents can pick up their children from school. Otherwise, bus riders will be held at school until the search for Cox finishes.
