Winter weather to make Thursday commuting traitors

Storm team update: An incoming weather system could create a wintry mix followed by icy conditions. This can pose dangers on roads on Thursday morning. We still collect information about this system, stays at News 12, and we put new updates when they become available.


Get ready for a series of storms that can have a significant influence on how we get around. The weather pattern is very active right now. A parade of weather will move from the northwestern Pacific, cruise across the country and plow through New Jersey with an overflow of different types of weather, apparently at once.


The first of three happens late Wednesday throughout the night on Thursday morning.


Right now, the morning commuting looks traitorous on Thursday. At the beginning, the snow oversprings oversight the area. I don’t expect much snowfall – 1 to 3 inches in communities along the Delaware River and in northern New Jersey. The atmosphere will start to warm and the snow changes to gossip/freezing rain. This will last for a few hours and unfortunately take us into the morning run to work and school.



On top of the snow, a crunch of ice will develop. Sidewalk that looks wet will actually be icy. Expect school delays or closures. If you have an option from home from home, use it. Eventually, the ice scenario will be tapered and a few scattered rain showers end the morning. In the afternoon, clouds will be stuck over the head and the temperatures will be in the middle to the upper 30s.

The second round of winter weather is this weekend – Saturday to Sunday morning. This round of weather could be more dangerous than I expect Thursday morning. Based on peculiar value of guidance (that will change), a touch is expected to start to start, so possibly even more ice on top of it. If this plays out as guidance suggests, New Jersey would look at a serious weather problem that goes into the Super Bowl on Sunday morning. In any case, the weather has to move on to playing time, I just don’t know how bad the roads will be.

The third system has the opportunity to deliver more of a snow -covered situation than ice or gossip. If – if – storm tracks into our storm window and will happen and will happen from now until then, it is possible that a decent accumulation is expected from Tuesday evening to late Wednesday next week. Keep an eye on.
