MCBB: Mississippi State, Ole Miss Drop More spots in AP Top 25

Both Mississippi State and Ole Miss got a hit in the latest rankings from Associated Press, as the toll for a southeast conference plan continues to be burdensome.

Bulldogs (16-6, 4-5 sec) fell eight spots to No. 22 after logging back-to-back loss. Chris Jans’ crew fell to top-five Alabama in a midweek heartbreaking before suffering a dominant defeat to a rising Missouri team.

Humphrey Coliseum was packed and high throughout the duration of the late Wednesday night affair, but a missed set-up of Keyshawn Murphy allowed the visitor Crimson Tide to go away with an 88-84 win. Josh Hubbard stood out in the loss with a team of best 38 points. Saturday was a strong view from Missouri behind the arch too big for the bulldogs to overcome. Mississippi State dropped the competition 88-61 despite a 24-point performance of Hubbard.

Next up for Maroon and White is a Saturday afternoon match in Georgia. The game overturns from Stegeman Coliseum in Athens at. 17 ct.

The rebels fell to No. 25 after splitting his two recent excursions. Chris Beard came victorious over his employer, Texas, in a 72-69 thriller. Nevertheless, tapping efforts from Ole Miss were not enough to remove top -ranked Auburn in front of a violent audience on Saturday.

Sean Pedulla led the rebels to score with 19 points against Longhorns, but Dre Davis had the greatest influence with 17 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in the home nail bitter on Wednesday night. Friday night, Hopes camped by Ole Miss students next to SJB Pavilion in anticipation on Saturday’s matchup against Tigers. The home team led a strong effort that ultimately wasn’t good enough to kill the dragon. Pedulla was Ole Miss’ leading goal scorer with 29 points in the loss 92-82.
