Max Christie Thanks Lakers After Trade To Mavericks

Los Angeles Lakers was involved in one of the biggest trades in the NBA story this weekend and switched Anthony Davis to Dallas Maverick’s superstar Luka Doncic. Doncic and Davis were obviously the exceeding acquisitions on both sides, but LA also said goodbye to the thriving Max Christie.

Christie was in his third year with Lakers, but it was his first year as a regular part of the rotation, and he undoubtedly made the most of it. He was in the starting lineup for Lakers, and in his last game with the team he had 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting and was a plus-21 in a big win over New York Knicks.

He becomes a big piece for Mavericks and has all the potential in the world to become an elite role player in the NBA. Christie said goodbye to lakers Organization and fans on Instagram before turning attention to the future with Dallas:

At 19, to be prepared and be able to play for a franchise as prestigious as Los Angeles Lakers is something I will always cherish. These last two and a half years have been filled with joy, growth and memories that I will never take for granted. Thanks to my teammates, staff and lacquer fans for your support for me. Proud to have earned the opportunity to play the game I love at the highest level of such a stored organization.

As for my new path in the future, I am very excited to start a new chapter and embrace my new opportunity with Dalla’s Mavericks. Blessed to be part of another great organization with big fans, players and staff who have such high goals and expectations of the franchise. Can’t wait to get started.

Lakers fans will certainly always root for Christie’s future success. He was a fan favorite during his three seasons in LA and was someone who fans always felt would be effective if they were given the opportunity to do so. He proved it in a small sample size this season and will continue to do so in Dallas.

Now, when Christie turns attention to Mavericks, Lakers turns theirs to Luka.
