Houston Rockets vs. Brooklyn Nets Game Preview: Starting Time How To See, Damage Report, Betting Line

Houston Rockets is on a three-match’s losing row, and every game has been frustrating in its own way.

First there was the loss to Memphis Grizzlies. Both teams came in on less than 100%, but Memphis angled Houston despite the Rockets who led with 7 too late. Grizzlies made several lucky shots against good defense around the edge and got a prayer answered on a turnaround banking grenade by Jake Laravia. Oh, and Memphis’s last two points were free throw.

Last night was a loss in New York to Knicks. Houstonw as further under -budded because Fred Vanvleet was not available. Rockets led by double digits several times in the game, but Knicks rode a supernova Jalen Brunson performance and some refereeing (as in, Knicks somehow never embarked on Jalen Green on his drives) to a 46-point fourth quarter. Indulgent but extra frustrating because Rockets led by 11 on the way into the fourth quarter and were unable to finish the job.

The sandwick between these games was a loss for the evening’s opponent, Brooklyn Nets. Even good teams lay eggs (unless you are OKC) and the rockets are young and lost their veteran point Guard midway through the competition. The rockets looked like a team that came out of a long road trip (just before we went to another) and the energy level was bad everywhere. Houston makes it hay by grabbing offensive rebounds and scoring in transition. In this game, the 14 offensive rebounds secured, but gave up 13. Meanwhile, Houston scored only eight points on quick breaks. Basically, the nets did exactly what you want to do when playing Houston, which is to take care of the ball and go down the boards.

Can Houston prevent the season tonight? The only teams in the NBA still with a chance to sweep Rockets this season are Nets, Kings, Bucks, Heat, Suns, Jazz and Magic. So far, no one has completed the task, but the nets could be the first.

We are in the playback room tonight, so you have to get together to see Rockets and talk about the game. Remember, we get a handful of VIP passes that we give out to everyone who wants to watch the game. Nothing Ligapas necessary!
