IU Basketball access report for Wisconsin Includes Four Guards – Daily Hoosier

Indiana has some key guards listed as questionable prior to his Tuesday evening match in Madison.

Both Myles Rice and Canaan Carlyle carry the dubious roof, while Jakai Newton and Gabe Cupps are still out.

Carlyle missed IU’s Friday evening match on Purdue with an illness. He did not travel with the team to West Lafayette, but he has taken the trip to Wisconsin and participated in the team’s shots in the Kohl Center.

Rice played on Purdue and did not suffer any damage against Boilermakers, so the reason for his dubious status is unknown.

Rice and Carlyle were Indiana’s seasonal start -up guards, but both have had their share of matches with inconsistent games since transferring to Hoosiers during the season.

A starter in all 22 matches to this point, Rice is an average of 11.5 points, 3.0 assists and 2.5 revenue per year. Competition, while shooting 43.6% from the field overall, including 32.1% from three.

Carlyle was moved to a reserve role in the middle of the season. He produces 4.6 points per Fight of 18.9 minutes. He shoots 29.2% overall and 22.4% from three.

Newton and Cupps have each only played in four games this year. CUPPS is not expected to return after having knee surgery, while Newton had treated a number of disorders.

The Hoosians cannot afford to be brief in Madison, a place they have not won since 1998.

Wisconsin does not show any players as questionable or off the evening’s games.
