Okc Blue Beat Bronny James, South Bay Lakers in 105-101 Victory

G League’s OKC Blue completed a 24-point comeback to collect a 105-101 win over South Bay Lakers Monday. The road victory improved OKC’s record for 8-8 in the season.

It looked ugly early. Lakers built a 33-16 lead after the first quarter. They added to it in the second quarter and were led by as many as 24 points. OKC scored 28 points in the frame to get into the break in a 58-44 hole.

The blue slowly started to itch back. They came out of a double -digit deficit midway through the third frame. They came within four points in the period. OKC scored 31 points in the third quarter and went out with a manageable deficit of 82-75.

Lakers created a place in the fourth quarter when Blue’s violation struggled to score. They created a 95-78 lead with less than six minutes left. It looked like OKC’s comeback attempts came short as it needed an unlikely hot run to make it interesting.

That’s what the blue did. A massive 21-3 race gave OKC its first lead. Miller Kopp sprayed a 3-pointer to create a 99-98 lead with 26 seconds left. A Shell-Choked South Bay couldn’t score on his next possession. The blue iced it out at the free throwing line.

The blue shot 39% from the field and went 12-of-41 (29.3%) from 3. They shot 15-AF-18 on free throw. They had 26 assists on 35 baskets. Four blue players scored double -digit points.

Meanwhile, Lakers shot 43% from the field and went 13-of-38 (34.2%) from 3. They shot 7-of-13 on free throw. They had 26 assists on 38 baskets. Four Lakers players scored double-digit points.
