Sharangovich, Huberdeau Score Power-Play-Goal, Flames beat Kraken 3-2

Seattle (AP) -Yegor Sharangovich and Jonathan Huberdeau each scored on Power Play in Calgary’s three-goal first period and the flames held to beat Seattle Kraken 3-2 Sunday night, February 2nd.

Morgan Frost also scored, and Dan Vlader stopped 27 shots when Calgary retained possession of the second Wild Card at the western conference.

Kaapo Kakko and Brandon Tanev scored for Seattle, losing for the fourth time in six games. Joey Daccord ended with 32 savings.

Frost got the scoring started for Calgary with 5:57 back during the opening period, minutes after Seattles Jaden Schwartz got a power-play goal taken off the board after a successful challenge for the target interference.

Sharangovich doubled Flames’ lead by 3:17 to go during the period and beat Daccord through the five -hole. Kraken challenged to the Goaltender interference, and after a long review stood the power-play goal. Huberdeau reached 3-0 with his 20th goal of a 5-to-3-power game with 2:04 back.

Kakko got the Kraken on the scoreboard with a power-play one-hour with 5:29 back in the other, and Taney pulled them within a 10 pm. 5:41 of the third.

Schwartz had an assist on Kakko’s goal for his 300. Career point.

Takeaways

Flames: Calgary has one of the highest winning percentages in the league when he scored first, seventh of 70%. At the other end, Flames have been the worst team in the first period this season of only 30 scored goals.

KRAKEN: Seattle has allowed 61 goals in the first period most in NHL. The crack never entered a rhythm after the early deficit and played behind the rest of the night.

Up 1-0, a big hit in the middle of the ice of Calgary’s Brayden Pachal, became some matches, and Seattle was dared with a double minor to coarse. It put the flames on the power game to double the lead and never looks back.
